Hi everybody.
Does anyone know if I can leave grand california connected to 230v with the cable included for few months and be sure both batteries will be fully charged ?

Or it is better to use regular battery charger with storage option connected in engine compartment ?

The hookup charger is designed for the job and charges both batteries. Both need regular charging so if in storage for more than a couple of weeks with no solar then keep it plugged in..

Understand. I am just worried what kind of charger is there and if it will decrease amperage send go to storago mode with minimum current once it is fully charged. I am taking here for lets say 4 months...

Hello,
I Need some help to make leisure battery charge from the 230v.
When i plug the gran cali to 230v i don't see any positive current charging the leisure battery on the control panel. Morover after 1 night using gaz heater, the leisure battery has been totaly drained and i need to recharge. So I went driving the grand cali and recover 60% charge in 40mn.
I have also noticed that solar panel gave me little more positive current this afternon and pushed the total charge to 70%
But at night with the gran cali plugged to 230v : 0 positive charge current !
Something has it failed in the 230v charge circuit ? How should i diagnose please ?

Does the EHU symbol appear on the camper control panel, if not Check all breakers in the utility cupboard are on (switch in the up position) and the 230Vac connector into the mains charger is properly seated, it is fairly common for it to work loose. The charger is under the left side (UK passenger) seat.

- i will check the 230vac connector under the left seat,
- I suppose all brakers are in the up position but i will also check,

By the way, what does mean EHU symbol ?

Electrical Hook Up - it’s a plug symbol on the bottom row of the control panel which replaces the battery symbol when the camper is plugged in.

You BET !!
As you find, It was the 230Vac connector under the left seat that was partially unplugged !

Now :
- the leisure battery is charging again,
- the camping mode is displayed on the control panel as well as the plug symbol,
- the step is permanently out.

That’s good news. Just as an FYI - Camping mode will be automatically selected when you plug into EHU, this means the step will be permanently out and a few other nice tricks like your auto headlights will not come on when you unlock the van so you don’t wake up your neighbours . You can always manually select camping mode on when you are running on battery only.
