Bendy rooflight replacement

Like so many others, my bendy rooflight has now snapped, unfortunately at the start of our three week holiday. It snapped where the metal bendy shaft is glued into the plastic mounting bracket

With it dangling limply, I tried to remove it. Unfortunately the female socket didn't make it through the hole drilled in the bodywork, so is now hiding in the metalwork above the front passenger seat.

It may be that I can get this sorted under warranty as my van is less than three years old - has anyone managed this please ??

If not, how do you get to the female socket ? Does anyone know how to remove the light sloping grey plastic trim (where the elevating cab end of the upstairs bed frame rests when in the down position), without breaking it and needing to buy another one pls ?

I would wait and get it replaced under warranty. the only way to get the connection out is to get a small round file and make the hole slightly bigger
