Bfg all terrain on 17inch

What size bfg allterrain tyres are people fitting to 17inch rims?
Or are people putting them on 16 inch rims.
Can’t find a size that will not change overall size

When you want to use AT tyres you very soon end up with larger over all size wheels (combination of tyre and rim). Most people who want to fit AT tyres go to 16 inch steel rims. You can then have higher tyre sides, which you really need for rough terrain or roads.

On Seikel's website you can find a table with available AT tyre sizes for various rim sizes, also identifying for which combinations you need lift kits, adjusted wheel arches or a steering stop (or none of these) for the resulting wheel size to fit in a T5/T6.

Why would you need higher sides and steel rims? It is well explained in this movie at 4:16:
