Hi - I have a 2011 California but with no wind out awning. I would like to retrofit an awning and wondered if anybody had done this - where do you get one, is it easy to fit etc. Keen to do it myself and would like an original VW Omnistor awning.

Thanks

The VW one - I spoke to SMG parts about how this in the week. You are looking at around £800 (with VIP discount) for all the bits and it's an easy fit - you need 2 people at one point to offer it up.

You and aslo get a Cali specific fammia F45 which is around £550 all in with the bits you need again it looks an easy fit form the manual.

Oh and the VW ones come up on eBay from time to time

Try rose awnings. omnistor was bought out by thule a couple of years ago

Many thanks - will get in touch with SMG and see what they can do.

Does anyone have the Fiamma awning? Is it any good?

I have Fiamma. Love it.
Took all of about 30 mins to fit single handedly.

From what I've seen alongside other vans it appears every bit as good as the VW supplied variant.
