Is it me or is it very dark in the front cabin area when camping
I've found rummaging around at night a nightmare, I have to use a torch to see the internal locking button on drivers door
Sometimes the maplight work, sometimes it doesn't
Is they any way of lighting cabin area whist camping

Beware that lights in front of the cabin works on starterbattery .
I always gave those switched OFF , just hitting one of the buttons in the roof consol makes light...

I relise that the courtesy light run off the starter battery,
With all the camping lights that are in the ocean you would of thought that having 25% of the usable van unlit when camping would be unacceptable

Never botherd us in many nights away .
You could always try and rewire some light off the lesure batteries?

My cabin looks like this + this very moment

The body control unit disables the power to the overhead console lights after a set time, just open and close one of the doors to reactivate them.

The lights in the roof help - if you press and hold the roof light buttons the lights get brighter and lighten the front of the van quite well.

A T6 thing only then ? so the OP has .

Yep, same here! Cabin lights worked in the T5 but not in the same way in the T6. Annoying.

The T5 bendy light is quite good for pointing down onto the front seats etc, does the T6 roof lighting not illuminate the seats?

It does, but if you are sitting down and reading a book for any amount of time, it is quite 'mood lighting' rather than good reading light. I guess if I was going to do night time reading I'd probably either sit in the bench area where the lighting is excellent, or get an extra usb lamp and plug it in next to the kitchen. Or a head torch, but my husband always laughs at me when I put mine on.

Those T6 lights are an option at additional cost - or are they standard on the Ocean?

Must be an option on the Beach.
I have a 2018 Beach on loan and there are no roof lights in the poptop. Little disappointing.
