Calicap - Roof Topper

Hi, we are looking to buy a roof topper for our T5 California and really like the Calicap from Germany. Has anyone bought one recently and if so, which option(s) did they go for. They're expensive but look excellent quality and simple to put up.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I bought one (calicap.ch same brand from Germany/Caliboard.de/vwcamper.de) for a T5 SE with 2 side windows. Great quality (Airtex) and fits in the tailgate pocket with the chairs. I also bought the extra cord:


To put up: Best with 4 hands, but also possible with 2.

Hi Sapto, great reply - just wondering what colour you have. We have a Salsa Red van and quite like the reddish option. We will go for the two window option as without will be a bit dark. The site is all in German so will need to email someone who speaks English.

(Sorry couldn‘t find a vid in English how to put up the cap however there are a couple in German)

Windows: Do you have 3 windows in you canvas? Then go for 3. There is also an option with a zipper to get more fresh air (extra €100.-) through the side windows.

We have a grey Cali and a dark cap. IMO black/dark and salsa red looks great

The extra cord to fix the front with the wingmirrors rather than the suction cup on the front window.

Tom from vwcamper.de speaks English so no problem.

We are now seriously considering a topper due to our canvas getting a good soaking a few weeks ago and we then had to put down wet on top of the bed! What is the difference between the Cali cap and the Cali topper (apart from price)

California camping - on you tube - do a video comparing two popular Cali toppers -if you are a visual person and like to see before you buy - might be worth a look IMHO.
