Buy a Carista for 25 shiny British pounds from Amazon. You can turn all sorts of things on and off, have a search for “carista” on this forum for more infoIn camping mode on my T6.1 the front doors make a bleep if opened but not always. The dog hates it! Any idea on how to turn that off or adjust? Thanks
Oh oh oh! Not just me then?? Had put it down to a camping mode quirk that was unique to ours. I can live with it, but so good to know ours isn't faulty. I love this forum.I noticed the same during our ongoing trip. The dashboard then displays ‘Put gearlever in P’ or something similar. Doesn’t make sense, and did not have this last summer…
Is your key in the ignition when this happens? If so that"s probably the issue. In camping mode on my T6.1 the front doors make a bleep if opened but not always. The dog hates it! Any idea on how to turn that off or adjust? Thanks

I don’t think we’ve experienced this yet, BUT we did download a software update 2 weeks ago, so maybe next trip!Same here on a new Ocean. When in camping mode, opening any door produce a loud BEEP. Same beep you get when you open a door with the ignition on except that it’s a single beep instead of a repeated one. What I noticed:
- each door does the beep only once per camping session. If you close the door and open it again, it won’t beep anymore (until the next time you switch on camping mode after having driven the van)
- it’s not just the front doors triggering the beep - it’s all of them.
- this doesn’t alway happen. Sometimes the doors don’t beep at all. It happens often though.
- it’s not related to the key being in the ignition (it’s not) or to the gearbox lever being incorrect (it’s in P)
Is it this? (It’s with us in Dutch but it says: “leave the vehicle only in position P. Find a workshop.”)I noticed the same during our ongoing trip. The dashboard then displays ‘Put gearlever in P’ or something similar. Doesn’t make sense, and did not have this last summer…
It doesn’t mention “find a workplace” with us, though. I’m surprised so many of us have this issue. It’s just 1 single beep, luckily, so it doesn’t continue beeping untl door is shut again. Is it this? (It’s with us in Dutch but it says: “leave the vehicle only in position P. Find a workshop.”)

We received this message on the screen on Sunday when we stopped on our way back from a VW meeting. Just like that -we were not in camping mode- apparently for no reason because the gear lever was in 'P'.

Everything still worked but beeping when opening a door. The car could be started and we could leave and the screen gave the normal chosen info again but still the small orange light that disappeared a little later.
So we now had this once in 3.5 months and over 9,000 km. Maybe a software bug at the moment but I'll keep an eye on it and report it to the dealer.

Are you experiencing the same as this guy? If so as said earlier, the fix is to get a Carista:Thanks for the responses. I will try and fix for the sake of the dog. Will try opening once and see if that stops it happening again as Mehdime suggested. Cheers
In Will's YT vid he is talking about the "ignition key" warning. That is something different to the "Move Gear selector to P" warning which is accompanied by a single bing and only when in camping mode. Are you experiencing the same as this guy? If so as said earlier, the fix is to get a Carista:
Error also occurs on Beach… but strangely only since recently, so probably related to some over the air software VW pushed to our vehicles. Only noticed this since a few weeks, last year we used camping mode a lot as well and did not get this error…In Will's YT vid he is talking about the "ignition key" warning. I fear the thread has drifted a little and I do wonder if anyone buying Carista to fix this software bug that seems to be on both Oceans & Coasts might not find what they are looking for in the way of a fix.
Got to love a software fix that adds more issues eh?Error also occurs on Beach… but strangely only since recently, so probably related to some over the air software VW pushed to our vehicles. Agree. They’re two separate things. I don’t believe that the single beep will be solved with Carista. In Will's YT vid he is talking about the "ignition key" warning. No, indeed, not the dame issue according to me… good luck with getting this sorted!!Ok, so no one has the message like in the photo of post #10? Just to be clear: with us it was during a ride and not at all in camping mode. Apparently it's something else. Anyway, today we drove our 3.5-month-old Coast to the dealer and asked someone to come with us for a ride and witness the creaking at the bottom right of the windscreen. They’ll try to figure it out. First try to solve it didn't work but I have to stay hopeful and look forward to when the annoyingly nasty crackling is fixed and over.
Then glue the top trim of the bellows (maybe I’ll do that myself) and than see if the ‘error message’ like in my picture comes back And I consider myself lucky that I don't have more problems.
It's good that traveling with it still gives us so much satisfaction, because that's what we do it for. I look forward to have a more or less crack-free and bug-free everyday mode of transport… our cali
