Can any recommend a decent campsite near the coast that will be open please?

If you want facilities Black Knowl , Brockenhurst. Or if you want it basic, Setthornes Sway. New Forest is great this time of year.

We did Black Knowl for the first time last weekend and absolutely loved it. Brockenhurst nice place to visit and so many places in the forest, amazing
