Can anyone recommend a quiet, basic, scenic site in Worthing area?

If you are a CC member then there is a CL at lancing, old salts road, large field, pleasant surroundings,

Quiet depends on where you site yourself, avoid being near the railway line which bounds one hedge line and if it happens to be shoreham air show day be prepared for it to be a bit like Bow in the blitz.

Thank you for the info, unfortunately our cc membership lapsed 18 months ago!

We live in Worthing and I am not sure why someone would want to stay near here, thats why we got a Cali to get away

Worthing is Lovely!

Well, leaving it is ....

I run into Worthing often, it is one of my regular routes.

Mind you I always meet my sister who gets me out of town quickly!

We are driving down to Worthing from Cornwall for a 89th birthday, hence the need for a site. We have enough country on our doorstep to keep us happy.

Northbrook farm CC site is at Goring, just off the A27, and accepts non-members.

If you are prepared to wild camp then goring gap may be applicable. Lots of motorhomes stop overnight there, its a big windsurfing place on the coast.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.8... is a cafe, toilets, beach walks, park walks.

Thank you GrannyJen
Goring Gap sounds good.

Just be careful if you see an old tart in a high-viz running top hobbling along.

I regularly run along that road as part of my routine training runs and a few weeks ago a motorhome decided to squeeze between a parked van, a van coming the other way and me passing the park van. There was not enough room for all of us and I ended up with a knee bashed by the idiot in the MH

She was a He and no he didn't.

Reported to the police as a "failing to stop"..., but he probably never even knew he had did it, for one thing his brain was clearly in Park, eyes in neutral and secondly it was a glancing knock from something swinging about at the back.

We do stay over at the Goring. Gap for an 'overnighter' a few times a year, but I would say that you do get quite a bit of traffic noise into the early hours.
People do take delight in zooming past at midnight with music full blast and if they are feeling brave a toot of the horn to boot! Still a nice spot though.
Agree with Jen that MH ruin it a little. Was there a couple of weeks ago and had a motorhome place a small functioning generator away from their van but close to mine. When I realised by 11pm that it was still running I had to pack up and move up the coast. Was still running when I got up at 6am for a walk...
On another occasion I had a MH switching the engine on every half hour. Had enough by 1am! And had to move...
It still is a nice spot but not perfect!
Hope you enjoy your visit...
