Looking for recommendations please for campsites in the Peak District which are open in March and given the time of year ideally have hardstandings

Thanks for the suggestions but was trying to avoid club site if possible

Green hills holiday park bakewell great site opens in march

Buxton CMC site is just lovely, set in an old quarry, great walk down into the town and cheap taxi ride back.
Open from 12/3/19 we will definitely return when the spa is fully open.

Hardhurst Farm in Hope is good. Open all year

Cafe on site and pub nearby

Laid back / no silly rules

Beech Croft Farm site in Blackwell , close to Millersdale and the Monsal Trail. very pleasant site with hardstanding pitches if needed.

Another recommendation for Beech Croft. Stayed there in half term.

:thanks

Any updates for Peak District stay over for 1 night next Sunday 27th August 2023 please ?
Near a decent hill walk and pub.
Thanks in advance

Newfold Farm ( previously Coppers) in Edale , kick up to Man Tor , round to Kinder Scout down to pub in village ( approx 5/6 hour stroll) or back to site ( has a new bar /restaurant )

Waterloo Inn at Biggin, camp behind the pub, walk down the dale to river Dove, up to Hartington and back over the hill to Biggin.

We normally go to the CAMC sites (Castleton and Chatsworth, as mentioned above) but my parents loved Lickpenny Lane.

The best small campsite in the Peak District (IMHO) is Park House at Monsal Head. Modest facilities but spotless. The Packhose Inn in Little Longstone is a 15 minute walk, and worth the visit. It also 10 minutes by foot from the Monsal Trail (excellent for walking or cycling).

Dale Farm in Great Longstone. At least one pub in the village, good for the Monsal Trail and you can do hill walks at Monsal Head. You can also walk up to the top of Longstone Edge from the site.

Also Callow Top near Ashbourne, right next to the Tissington Trail and good for Dovedale and Thorpe Cloud. It’s a 15 minute walk into Ashbourne from the site or there is a pub on site, open at the weekends.

Hulme End has a hard standing. Just west of Hartington and ideal for walks down the Dovedale valley heading south, or treks to Wetton Mill to climb Thors cave.

Good facilities. We were there mid April, not sure of March. Nice NZ couple running things

Laneside at Hope is a great site, bit bigger than it used to be though. Short walk to the village for pub/shop or train station if you want to leave the van on site and go out exploring.

Some great suggestions! Thank you all so very much :thanks

Or park for free on the broken road at Castleton and spend the cash in the pub.

Cash in the pub is never on my maybe list ;)
