Canoe on Cali

Hi, just putting our canoe on the Cali for the first time. Fits well but wondering about bow/stern lines and whether anyone uses them on the Cali and if so how or if because the roof rack is further apart they’re not necessary.

Fit the front towing eye and have a bow line lashed to it, stern line to the tow hitch. They are really there to stop the canoe in the event of rear ending or being rear ended, so don’t have to be lashed too tight.

You can also get soft anchor that shuts under the bonnet, if you don’t want to use the towing eye

Thanks for the tips…. Used the eyelet on our car but was worrying about the precious Cali paintwork and the line rubbing on the bonnet…. Better that than the alternative though! ;-)
