Cats

A handful of Scotch bonnets (v hot chilli), liquidise with water and paint on the roof as a dilute solution - and no, it won't damage your paint.
Cat jumps up, paws start to tingle, cat licks paws. You can imagine the rest!
Cat won't come back and will recover unharmed.
Great fun to watch.

Fortunately although dogs are classed as domesticated animals and cats are not the RSPCA considers setting a dog onto a cat Animal Cruelty and prosecute.
Totally agree and so haven't done it.
But can't see every angle of the garden when letting the dogs out... so wouldn't be setting them on a cat. I just hope the cats learn to stay other side of the fence so no harm to any animals, dogs, cats or birds...

Most ordinary pet dogs wouldn't hurt a cat anyway - they might chase it but any kind of harm is very unlikely. When we had a dog he was taught respect by our cat - a black dog looks pathetic with beads of red blood on his nose!
And another of our cats, protecting her chum, our rabbit, chased away a dog that had got into our garden over a wall at least 5ft high.
