Chowdene - Certified Site (York)

Quite expensive at £19 per night inc EHU and just the one toilet and shower BUT... it is only 2 miles from York centre and 0.8 miles from a great Leisure Centre and Shopping Centre.

A perfect place to stop if you just want a one/two nights close to city but far enough away that it is very quiet.

They accept dogs but I would recommend leaving your furry friend at home as York centre isn't all that 'dog friendly' and you might miss out on some the sights.

Owners are very friendly too.

Another York site well worth a look is at the Lysander Arms pub, next door to the park & ride (N.W. side of city), plus Clifton Moor shopping area (with a handy Tesco store).
Good site and immaculate 'facilities', all EHU and hard standing, decent pub… what more do you want? However, it's small - only 13 (I think) pitches, so book at busy times. We were there this year and it really is a nice place to stay. We were worried that the pub might be noisy on the Saturday night, but not so, despite being busy.
