Has anybody actually seen the roof of their van close down from the outside? In 12 years of ownership I have always closed the roof by sitting in the drivers seat to operate, as you do, and so have never seen it close except from the inside.
We are at a French campsite and yesterday I had the unexpected experience of watching my Dutch neighbour who also has a TDI closing his roof. Never seen it before, have always been in the cabin.
It is an amazing sight, all that folding as if by magic. So if you have never seen your roof close before I recommend it. Get your wife or someone you trust to press the buttons and stand outside and watch.
