Comfort Mattress or Sea to Summit

We bought our first Cali late last year and are still getting it sorted for trips in 24. It’s an Ocean and came with a comfort mattress but we’ve found that this doesn’t quite do the job for our old bones! We’ve seen lots of suggestions about the Sea to Summit campervan self inflating mattress and we are thinking about buying one. I wanted to ask if anyone had experience of leaving it inflated in the pop up and can it stay here when you drop the roof ?

The Aluminium roof is very fragile and easily creased. You risk causing a bulge on the side of the roof close to the scissor mech, not worth the risk in my opinion.

We have removed original mattress in pop top and replaced with S2S. Deflate to put roof down once on site rood up inflate bed very comfortable.
Use a small rechargeable pump to deflate/inflate.

I thought that they were self inflating.

Yes that takes a while so I just use the pump

Has anyone found a quiet small pump?

Mine, an Outdoor Revolution Mini Max USB, shreiks (particularly on deflation as the air flow is no longer contained) so is far from neighbourly.

Also great to properly deflate at speed.
