Do we have a thread, maybe a sticky thread, that just summarises the front-panel and under-seal problems and VW's current position on fixing them?

It's a 2011 model, sold by a VW dealer so within the 6 year limit. Check carefully, ask the Dealership and get something in writing, but otherwise if it fits your needs then go for it.
