Hi , I’ve been thinking about fitting these as the wardrobe is a bit of a waste of a large space and we don’t think we would ever hang anything up in it. Anyway thought I’d have a go at making my own as I had all the bits in the garage. Shelf brackets are stuck with double sided tape so no drilling done at all and the shelves are also just stuck to the brackets with the same tape. They seem sturdy enough to put clothes on etc. I had some 4 way stretch material left over from when I did a micro camper van conversion so i used that to cover the 6mm ply to tidy things up. I stupidly put this material underneath too as my other half thought she would be able to see under the shelves but it just makes the edges look a bit untidy. I may remove this if I get really bored one day. The whole job took me around 4 hours but I did take my time with lots of measuring and making cardboard templates. Anyway photos attached

Great job.

I built mine too.

The only mod I’m considering is to place vertical bungees going from the second to top shelf to keep the contents from slipping into the base. We use packing cubes for clothes and find that they can often fall into the hole.

The other thing. Double sided sticky tape is brilliant stuff, until it isn’t, successive summers and winters can take their toll.

My solution involved three vertical notched struts that sit on the floor. Feeding it a notched recess on the shelf.

Just in case the tape wears out.

Just took them out to refine them……Wasn’t happy with the bulgy bit that was underneath on the corner of the top shelf due to me putting the 4 way stretch material on top of each other and I stupidly put the double sided tape on the 4 way stretch fabric to stick on the shelf brackets. Anyway cut the fabric out and stuck the tape to the wood shelf. Feels much more secure now. Job 100% complete.Photos attached even through they don’t look much different to the last ones apart from no bulgy bit on the front corner…..

Another upgrade, lights in the dark areas as the light is only in the top section. Just a couple of cheap torch’s I give clients stuck to the inside wall bit. Does the job perfectly

I made some too last year - I used Velcro to hold the vertical holders - and the shelves become self supporting one lowered into place but unused a few little clips for extra security. No drilling as I would not be confident to do that!
I used some some foam edging from child proofing stuff which stops things moving around (don’t have a picture).

Great job, but without sounding too critical why make the middle shelf L shaped, mine fits right to the corner of the door with a small radius, even more storage

Keeping the L shape means we can more easily ram stuff in the bottom esp like big coats or blankets and duvets. Makes the whole wardrobe more useable for us :)

I have the safe so need to open it and see what’s in it
