For the first time ever I decided to do a blog of my current trip. I am planning on being in France, Spain and a small chance of Portugal for up to two months. Created a blog more for family and friends but wondered if other people would be interested…

Blog

Ive never had a blog before so if you do look go easy on me .

Main point of post, do people look at these things when they dont know the person?

Personally, no I don’t, but I know that others do. It takes all sorts and that’s fine.

I like reading them on here for hints and tips. I don't tend to seek them out elsewhere. And whatever you decide, have a great trip!

I like to take a peak, though prefer VLOGs (Youtube Videos). Been watching a chap in a Buzz camper of late. If plenty of photos, I will take time to read a blog also.

Enjoyed reading your self-effacing journal. I travelled on my own quite a lot once. It was for me an unusual mix of ups and downs, but very memorable. I wish you ‘good huntin…’ as they used to say.

I prefer posts with more photos. WordPress as a blog platform to blog you can add lots of photos. Always good to look back on your past trips.

I think it might evolve a bit as I get used to doing it but yes, mainly for me to look back on and keep family/friends up to date. If anyone else reads it and enjoys it then bonus.

Keep it up, I sometimes write up trips, nobody’s interested but I only do it for myself to read, they’re good to look back on, it’s amazing how quickly you forget. Also it gives me something to do.
Agreed, if solo travelling, I think it can give you a sense of purpose and structure, knowing that you should create this record, even if very few people other than you actually read it.

I often say to my wife and kids that I prefer to travel with someone for the shared experience (which might be bad news for them!). If travelling alone, the blog would perhaps fill that role. I could even see myself doing the same, although I don’t currently read them.
