can anyone recommend a dog tether that is the ones you screw into the ground and let the dog ‘loose’ on a long lead. We have a Labrador pup currently 14kg and growing by the day!

middle of lidl £10 comes with Bag and wire rope

Halfords, £14.99
RAC Tie Out Cable and Stake

We use it when on sites with 30 kg Black male Labrador.
When keeping him within shorter reach ( cable is quite long ) we just attach his ‘Halti’ training lead ( approx 2 m ) to his harness ( Ruffwear Front Range medium )

We are first time dog owners and our 15kg Labrador puppy is still ‘learning’ and has her bouts of child behaviour Can I ask you how you sleep your dog at night, in or out? Any tips will be gratefully received

We find the screw in tethers to be a pain, especially on hard ground.

We use one of those dog seat belt leads, attached to another very long line. We plug it into the middle seatbelt on the bench seat.

Our dogs can get in and out the van and you can open/close the door with them still secure.
This setup has been a game changer for us.

The problem with these is that when "Bob" figured out that the button on the door opens the window, it didn't take him too ling to figure out that the red button is "FREEDOM"!
Hence a Karabiner on a floor anchor point appears best

I can only dream of the day she looks as chilled as your lab

Just back from an overnight camp stay to see how the puppy (and us) copes with new experience. Totally agree with your comments about hard ground with the screw in tether I took along. Could only go in half way.

With your dogs on a long lead attached to the seat belt clip what are your experiences of them moving around and getting tangled around table and chairs etc? We were left chasing our puppy’s tail when tethered up. I set the tether up about ten feet away from the sliding door into the rear seating area of the van.

Put a strap through the wheel and put the dog lead on it, your dog won't move three tonnes!

The dogs getting tangled around everything and anything is a constant battle.

Can’t help you on that one I’m afraid.

We have a piece of old climbing rope (slightly stretchy) clipped at the drivers seat belt one end and the dog the other. It means we can shorten depending on situation, and is generally right in the middle of our encampment. Nicer on your dogs neck as it has a little give both from the belt and because of the elasticity of the rope. Always ready to deploy from the moment of arrival with nothing to have try to screw in, nor fall over. We’re away this weekend, hopefully pic to follow

We use one of these tool tethers attached to the driver bottom seatbelt bracket. Elasticated so doesn't jar the dog and also no metal bits near the the b-pillar causing paint damage. Also clips nicely onto headrest when not being used.

Thank you. That’s really useful

I got massive ground anchors, never got round to using them tho. Much bigger than the usual screw in dog ones.
