Fourth mod of the day! A while ago I bought the Dometic floor mount for my CFX-28 but it’s intended to be bolted onto something. I don’t want to drill holes in the floor of my van so I wanted to make a mounting plate out of wood.
First I made some rail fixings using bolts and cross dowels - I used thread locker and then araldite to fix them in place:

I put an additional piece underneath to create a gap for the raised rails and so the bolts weren’t touching the floor

I drilled holes to put the rail fixings through and used araldite to fix large washers on either side of the wood for extra strength. I then cut a slot where the luggage loop is at the end of the outer rail so that I could use a strap to hold it down on the other side of the base plate. I used wing nuts to hold the base plate down.

Base plate holds the fridge perfectly in place behind the passenger seat, it can be opened easily and can stay in place when putting the bed down.

I just took the same approach but sans the Waeco holder. Four holes in the wood part, four bolts into the coolbox and it sits even lower. Great idea to use the third mount point for a strap, didnt think about that.

Thanks Kave. I bought the holder as it has a ‘quick release mechanism’ - you just pull up the handle at the front and the fridge slides off. However chances of it being used in reality are about 1% so, on reflection, I’d save the £80 and do as you’ve done :thumb

I had planned to make an alternate mounting option behind the storage box (next to the rear seats) - however with the maxxcamp Henry in place the fridge would have to sit too far forwards for the storage box to be able to open. If I had another day I might adapt the storage box by putting an extra hinged part in it so that you can open just the half nearest to the passenger seat - think I’ll save that for when we come back though!
