DSG Gearbox - Oil change

My local independent garage did this for me in 2021. Oil £48.85, filter £28.60. Those are a bit more than engine oil / filter but not a great deal. Labour - I can't say as this was part of annual service plus new tyre (£500 total).

Generally I'd say it's bound to be cheaper at your local independent, and they have all seen VW transporter vans before.

Question is who do you trust For me, it's Derek round the corner, VW deaier I trust not at all.

Was that a manual gear box ? Or DSG ?

My second vehicle is a DSG VW Tiguan. Apparently it is time to change the gearbox oil for which VW want to charge me £199.00. Has anyone had any experience regarding this requirement with their Cali? Fortunately my Cali is a manual! £199.00 seems a lot of money for an oil change?

My other vehical is a dsg Tigian, oil needs changing every 4 years or 40000 miles. I payed a lot more than £199 nearly £350 at main dealer Bristol.

Thoughts and advice…..
Just had 2nd service and MOT carried out under ‘All In’ plan.
Cali Ocean is 6yrs in May but only done 14000 mls. Recommended DSG oil change £399 ! ( other recommendations Air Con service and Brake fluid change)
Does it need DSG change given such low mileage ?

DsG is Time and or Milage.
40,000 miles or 2 yrs. Brake Fluid 3 yrs initially then every 2 yrs.
Air Con every 2 yrs.
None of the above included in any Service Plan.
