Carpenters Arms, Dale Abbey. Pub stopover with

• Fairly close proximity to M1 (between Derby & Nottingham)
• large, flat, off road (round the back) carpark
• electric £5 p/n (4 HU points)
• guest ales
• pub grub at very reasonable prices
• Good atmosphere & nice and friendly staff
• BIG bonus = Elsan point
• beer garden with swings and some other bits for kids
• good location for walking & some quirky history
• very near a lovely tea room
• no loos at night but the door’s usually open till about midnight
• fair stopover price, £4 p/n or free if you eat in the pub

although this is a Britstop (you can stop for free without being a customer) they welcome anyone else too. Elizabeth, the landlady is lovely and said they will be converting the back field to a small campsite and will eventually have loos and showers for guests. They host different things on different days, like quiz night, pie night, steak night, vintage car monthly meet.
