Hi everyone
We are considering on buying the Ecoflow wave 3 air conditioning unit which I believe would fit in between the drivers and passengers front seats.
Is there anyone on this forum that has had any experience with this unit to advise if it is a good piece of equipment and also most importantly how did you vent the duct pipes out of the window and was there an accessory for the window to put the pipes in?
Thanks in advance

I had one in my last van based on the Boxer/Relay/Ducato platform.
I had the additional battery pack and made a template that would fit in my sliding window.
It was bigger than I expected and I think probably too big for a California but the cooling was good, they are pretty quiet on whisper mode.
I see that the new version has a universal window vent accessory https://uk.ecoflow.com/products/wave-series-car-vent-seal?variant=50942837784915

Thank you for your help, I think you are correct that it would be too big between the seats so now wondering if it could sit on the drivers seat in hot conditions (need to get a tape measure out).
We currently use a couple of Bivvy fans for cooling but would really like to find a solution for air conditioning.

It will happily sit on the seat but it’s quite heavy.
Don’t forget you can also ‘pipe’ the cool air too, you could have it at the end of the bed and facing towards the front of the van.
I gave the Wave to my son so if I get a chance I’ll grab a photo of it in the T7 so you get a sense of the scale of it.

Did you get one eventually ? We are seriously considering the wave 3 to cool the nights down around the med so we can sleep... Anyone got any experience of use in a california? is it too big or will it work even if just for sleeping?

Hi, haven't posted for a while as for the last five years I've owned a Hymer Grand Canyon S, but still take a look occasionally.
Purchased one a couple of years ago but soon returned as it just couldn't cope with high med temperatures in fact when used in high temperatures 35+ it made the van warmer as the units extraction pipes become very hot, effectively turning into a mini radiator !
It's also quite a large unit even in the Hymer, intake and extraction pipe limit location and ability to move around the van.
To be fair to Ecoflow they accepted a return and refund so I wouldn't have any hesitation in buying another product but the Wave was a fail me.
It may work if somehow the unit sits outside ducting in cooler air but you will be vulnerable to theaft.
It's no substitute for roof mounted A/C.
