Very basic facilities, fairly remote but the most stunning campsite we've yet stayed in! A lovely safe white sand beach keeps the kids happy and a fairly decent stroll (1.25 miles) takes you to the nearby village with a pub and a shop.

A truly magical place to stay.

Totally agree. Definitely one of our spots to return to one day.

Another vote from me. Just a stunning location.

Just lovely! We were there at Easter on our first big advanture (sic)

Yep - it rocks!

Taken with a pathetic camera phone (we forgot our proper camera - DOH!) from our Cali window!

... and my profile pic was also taken there on a gloriously sunny day ...

One of my favourite places in the world! Here's some photos from when we were there in an old T2.

1st went there in 1986 with parents in a caravan and several times since.

Taking the family and the Cali for their/it's first trip there.

We used to pay £1 a night back then and it was very quiet. No toilets at all either.

Be warned.... when the wind blows, it takes to prisoners! It lifted the roof off the barn one year and landed over the top of the farmers car (Jimmy I think?) Didn't touch the car....

Fantastic place though. Ferry booked 22nd July :bananadance

Just found a better pic: The view from our van.

Totally agree just returned from our months trip to the Outer Hebrides & Scottish West Coast and we found this site in a great location with no midges. Great sites also on the Outer Hebrides are Balranald (near RSPB) North Uist, Kilbride Campsite South Uist, Borve Camping & Caravan Site Barra. Our last site was on Arran staying at Seal Shore site Kildoran a good site again no midges.

Another big vote for this campsite. We camped next to a wooden table/bench set and a pile of stones for the barbie and 10 meters from the beach. Next van was 200 meters away. Brilliant for nippers.
Good showers etc but no EHU.

We went on the boat trip to Fingle's Cave (so much more impressive than the Giant's Causeway) and across to Iona. Also did the 9th Wave restaurant: expensive but fabulous food. About 45 mins walk from the campsite. They do their own veges and catch their own fish (front of house man is the fisherman) his wife is the chef.

Peart's brilliant stainless steel BBQ (NO heat out the bottom) and sirloin steaks in pouring rain assisted by a little Ardbeg, below ...

Do it!
