Requirements:
Around 300W Solar
Car Wash friendly (no curly cables)

Components:
Hess 320W Solarträger ... https://shop.automobile-hess.ch/pro...ranlage-beim-vw-t5-t6-california-320-w-anlage
Collected from the manufacturer during a holiday in Switzerland - saved delivery costs.
Phaesun Mare Flex 155 Solarmodule x 2 .... https://www.esomatic.de/solarmodule/semi-flexible-solarmodule/310423.html?number=310424
Scanstrut DS-H10 grau Kabeldurchführung .... https://lepper-marine.de/Scanstrut-Kabeldurchfuehrung-horizontal-DS-H10-grau/1053-00164
250V DC 2P Low Voltage Miniature Circuit Breaker Solar Energy Switch 32A .... https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07D27Z8GC/
Viko Surface-Mounted Small Distribution Board für 2 Module ... https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B08VMR2DWW/
Victron Smartsolar MPPT Laderegler 100/30 .... https://www.online-batterien.de/shop/index.php?a=1013786

Total cost + sundry items around €1350.

Solar panels are glued with Sikaflex to the Hess panel which is bolted into the roof-rail slots.
Solar panels are connected in series on the roof and sealed in glued heat-shrink (with a XT60H connector should I ever need to remove the panels).
Cable goes through the roof via a Scanstrut marine cable gland (100% Waterproof) and the cables are routed alongside the wiring for the LED lights in the pop-top headlining - they are invisible inside the van.
Solar isolator and MPPT are mounted in the top of the rear cupboard.
MPPT is attached to the earth point on the rear left behind the 240V RCDs at the bottom of the cupboard.
The +ve is fed to the second battery and protected by a 40A MIDI fuse.

Best daily yield so far is 0,75kWh and the fridge has run 24/7 for 3 weeks with no external hook up ... and it's been through a car wash a couple of times too.

Very happy with the result.

"Scanstrut Marine Cable Gland" That is an interesting attachment. Well done and looks neat. I too have a similar setup and yes, have had 5+ days fridge and heating on for 5+ days and the batteries still had power to go on longer. Have not yet been able to test max duration.

Very neat installation too.

Hi California,
A really neat looking installatio, after seeing yours and other installations I have decided to go down the same route.
Can you help me with the number of the Sikaflex you have used. I have ordered Sikaflex 522 (supposedly a 521 replacement). But there seems to be a few different type numbers which is a little confusing.
Thank you.

Hi California,
I have just realised I have asked you a not too similar question in your previous post. Sorry for this repeat, (age thing?)
Anyway I see it was Sikaflex 291 you used (yet another variety) I will go ahead with the 522 when it arrives, the Silkaflex site does give a compatible description of its uses.

thanks once again.
