Hi All.

Had our California for One Year now, Had it’s first service on Friday at Breeze VW Poole, as normal excellent service from arrival to collection,
With thanks to Jackie, Jason and all the team, a credit to Breeze Vw.
As you all know we are very Lucky to have the VW GURU based there for all California related problems.
Having Dealt with this Dealership for over 5 years, I personally would not go anywhere else.
Keep up the good work.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.:thanks:thanks:cheers:cheers:bananadance2:bananadance2

Booked in for MOT & Service in January.

Any recommendations for a stay the night before so I can be there bright and early on the day.

Hi Mike I'm also booked in for a service and MOT on the 10th January. Like you I'm travelling from Bristol and planning to stay here for the night.

Dropped pin
Near Hamworthy, Poole

There is CMC Hunters Moon, Wareham Forest Tourist Park and Birchwood Tourist Park not too far away, about 20 minutes depending on the time of the day

That looks good to me 11min to the garage

I’ve stayed in car parks before. Have you checked this one out or been there before?

I’m booked in for the 7th

Thanks for the tips. I’ll report back as a number of us could be doing this.

Wareham Forrest looks good.

No I haven't. I found it on the park4night app.

Has Anyone spoken to Breeze to see if:

A) they will provide an overnight space within their curtilage ?

B) suggest a suitable location locally to over night, such as on / off street parking, truck stop, Stadium, sports facility etc local to the dealership where overnight parking would be tolerated?

C) partner up with a local Business to offer discounted accommodation, either in Van or B&B / hotel ( with Parking) ?

I personally should love to see a progressive approach by dealers in the U.K. who sell Cali’s ( and the Dream) in providing a simple basic facility for Prebooked customers using their services, whom are travelling some distance. Possibly the use of Hardstand and EHU, I personally would travel some considerable distance to Poole, if that were a realistic option, it would make that dealer stand head and shoulders above all others and compliment the Sales ethos beautifully and provide direct benefit to their customers. (What a marketing opportunity).

I wonder if @VW Guru would broach this with his management team ? (@Michael Breeze )

How many Forum members would like to see the Dealer(s) offer some sort of basic facility for prebooked overnighting ?

It’s a Win / Win for all concerned?

We also drive from Bristol and it takes longer than I expected, so would like to stay somewhere locally next time. I spoke to the Breeze team whilst we were having ours serviced in September and they have customers who own camp sites apparently. They were going to look into it to see if they could sort something out.

It would be a game changer for many if a trusted dealer could offer some facility on their site, even just a basic tarmac hardstand, for a couple of Cali’s to overnight, but I think there is scope for so much more of an opportunity to surpass this.?

Sales are only one component of the modern dealership, ongoing relationships with customers is a vital element and would inevitably lead to repeat business due to the added perceived (and tangible) benefits to both parties.

People who own Cali’s are not adverse to a bit of travelling ! Particularly if there is a perceived benefit.

Many, many here are prepared to travel a good distance to a trusted dealership, but are put off simply because it’s a PITA fitting around the various factors of long distances.

Invariably It is simply easier to go to a local dealer and accept mediocre service ! Which is counter intuitive, simply because it’s easier ! But it is Human nature to follow the route of least resistance.
A missed opportunity for both dealer and owner to build a lasting bond !

Bristol to Poole is not an insignificant journey IMO, one that many many more would commit to similar journeys if the process were made easier and more pleasant?

Great App. Used it a few times.
I’ll check it out and if not suitable find somewhere else. Probably the campsite. I’ll post how I get on.

If all else fails you can stay at the ferry port (Brittany Feries terminal) , follow the signs to Brittany ferry check in , when you pass the unmanned kiosk at the entrance to the ferry terminal lanes you will see a huge metal shed, park immediately next to the huge shed (on the far side of the numbered ferry lane) dedicated over night parking, toilets and showers next to the cafe. Short walk to shops, pubs restaurants etc. Next to the harbour.
There is a fee to pay to the Cafe (£5) but when I visited in the Summer the cafe was not open when I arrived or when we left.
Not the most quite place as people arrive through the night to get the ferry in the morning, but a very functional spot with basic amenities and it’s safe.

@Perfectos smg cowfold aranged a discount at a local campsite sometime ago. Don't know if this is still available
Maybe @calikev can confirm this.

Shame we can't rely on local dealers to do a competent job... won't name names but our 2017 Beach 1st service after 9K miles last year was dismal. After 50 miles low oil indicator came on. That's the only thing they needed to do and they fluffed it.
