At the garage now being fixed, luckily all under warranty and the VW assistance with the AA were brilliant. Hoping for a more successful second trip as its dented our confidence a bit in her.

Don't panic - we had a few teething troubles in the first trip (slight diesel leak, turbo pipe fell off!), however as you say all fixed under warranty and been good as gold every since

They probally bought it 2nd hand and it was "their" first trip ....

Warranty is a wonderful thing, don't let it put you off.

Actually its not, I don't have power steering in mine but the breakdown is the same experience.

At least you know its sorted and good to go for the next one
