So following in from my previous post around traveling to France or Italy it’s finally come round, stayed at the Premier Inn in Dover last night and headed down to our first Aire stop near Vierzon, tomorrow heading to Millau for 5 nights at Sandaya Les Rivages then on to the alps, this will be our longest ever trip in the Cali, gonna be a hot one tonight still 31 degrees 21:44 local time o_O

Super calm crossing IMG_1441.jpegIMG_1447.png
Navigating the Paris ring road, almost got caught out by a 2m height restriction on a tunnel I wasn’t aware off! Could of been a disaster!IMG_1448.jpegIMG_1451.jpeg

Made it to the Aire, beer and wine in handIMG_1453.jpegIMG_1455.jpeg

I did get caught out by that tunnel. 8k long and 2.05m high but the cali did fit under. Scary though.
Great pics. Enjoy your trip
Yep, I did that tunnel in my converted 6.1 on 20” rims, I’m still traumatised. I remember driving between the hanging signs because I thought my roof was going to come off ‍

We did the French Alps last month. You must visit Annecy. Really beautiful. And a train ride up Mont Blanc. Not all the way. But must have been 2,200 metres.
We also got surprised by the Paris tunnel. Too late to pull off. A white knuckle drive through. My god, it went on forever. Have a great time.

We are heading over that way next, staying in Les Contamines-Montjoie for a couple of nights

Another vote for Annecy. If you are travelling in SE France then Chamonix is also a lovely place to visit.

Les Contamines-Montjoie Is a stones through from chamonix, though with 2 young autistic kids I’m not hopefully on much sightseeing!

It’s been okay sleeping actually, cools down in the evening, I was quite worried about that myself, I bought a Shark Hydrogo just in case, luckily haven’t needed it, couldn’t quite justify an Ecoflow Wave3, though I’m sure that would do the trick! I guess to depends how luckly/unlucky you are with the weather, I know it was pushing 40 degrees a few weeks back, it got up to 32 today, but still down to 18 in the middle of the night

No issues with mosquitoes so far, again something I was concerned about, don’t want to tempt fate but no bites yet, currently sat out at 22:35 drinking Hoegaarden so all good:cheers
