Maybe this has been posted before but as a reminder....

Umweltplakette (the green sticker) for German environmental zones.

Be aware of websites charging way over the odds for these stickers.

They are only €6 from Berlin local authority

I've ordered and received stickers from the Berilin council source a number of times over the years and have just done so for my current vehicle.

Followed the link to the Berlin authority, and applied on 30/12/16 at 22:30hrs, and the Umweltplakette (the green sticker) arrived today. Notional cost of €6 actually cost £5.29 (£5.14 and 15p for the non sterling transaction)
A lot better than the £16.90 some sites are charging.

Thanks for this info, I was totally unaware of this scheme. At the moment it appears to just affect Germany and possibly Italy but will probably spread to other European cities. Does anyone know whether a sticker purchased in Germany will be valid across Europe as the scheme is more widely introduced ?

Very doubtful if German stickers will be valid elsewhere & vice-versa.

For information, France has just introduced a similar system, already in force in Paris (http://connexionfrance.com/Paris-pollution-stickers-foreigners-Peripherique-18667-view-article.html).

For French-registered vehicles, the sticker costs about 4€ & is available by internet.
But I have not found any mention of what foreign vehicles are supposed to do...
