That just brought back a long buried memory of my French GCSE oral exam when I had to do exactly that task... somehow I forgot the French word for lake and asked for a spot by the sea instead.Pitch next to one of the lakes (ask for a lakes side pitch when booking)
And that reminds me of the time that a French man once had a problem with us, for reasons we’re still not sure about. Anyway, he couldn’t speak English and so I used my distant memory of GCSE French. My daughter, who has better, more recent GCSE French told me afterwards that I managed to call him a “cow” (vache) when I was questioning why he was so angry (fache). It didn’t really matter, the body language did the heavy lifting and he seemed to see my 2 points in the end ✌.That just brought back a long buried memory of my French GCSE oral exam when I had to do exactly that task... somehow I forgot the French word for lake and asked for a spot by the sea instead.
Appreciate the suggestions, will look into them all.

Vivier aux Carpes near St Quentin - we stayed there a couple of years ago. V good medium-sized site. Boulangerie van visited every morning when we were there. Not too far from autoroute.Stayed at this place ,

Just make sure you don’t arrive the day before market day as you can wake-up surrounded by market stalls and cross market stall owners. You won’t get away until after 12 o’clockPick any village around Reims, pitch up in the square/outside of the Boulanger ready for breaky.
