Cali now sold
Hello everyone, I'm new here .....:)

Well, sort of .... almost...

and I'm looking for a Cali, or possibly even a caddy Cali.

Yes, a few changes. I have become a widow. My Darling Jo, taken ill just as we completed the last of our big charity cycle rides last September, left me in December.

It left me having to reorganise my life. My grief has been unimaginable but life moves on. Last week I completed on the purchase of a narrowboat. A complete change of direction but it now means a full facility camper van is a bit superfluous to my lifestyle. However I do still have a need for an occasional overnight camper so looking, yet again, at the California range.

Bad pennies never go away for long

Welcome back, Jen -sorry for your loss.
When we sold our Ocean we looked at the Cali Caddy but felt the size was just too small with a lack of pop top and a lot of the camping stuff filling the boot, decided on a T6.1 Beach camper. A lot simpler, less to go wrong and bags of room. The cooker works well and folds out of the way.
Enjoy the narrow boat. - A Cali on the water.

Thank you and nice to talk again :)

GMTA ... I'm now looking at a Beach

Hey @GrannyJen welcome back! I am sorry to hear about Jo (forgive me was she your sister or partner?). You will be welcomed back on here for sure, with your pragmatic and 'straight to the point' statements and views (a bit like @WelshGas hehe). Enjoy the narrow boat! (we are jealous) :thumb

Thank you :).

Sorry for your loss.
Yours was one of the first posts I read when I joined this forum and I chuckled to myself at your description of the fridge as your ‘42 litre wine cooler’. I try to ensure that our fridge does your description justice and I trust that your narrowboat is equally well equipped :thumb

Hi :)

Best thing about my narrowboat is the fridge is twice as large ... cheers :)

Sorry for your loss, but welcome back. See you in Waitrose!

So sorry to hear about the loss of Jo. Things will be so different as a solo traveller through life, on the water and on the road.
My sister lives on a narrow boat during the summer but takes the opportunity to go abroad in the winter. I would agree with the other responses in this post. Go with a vehicle that you are familiar with. A beech sounds perfect and roomy enough for the odd jumper and mulled wine in the cooler weather.
I look forward to hearing what you do next.
Good luck with your new van.

So sorry for your loss. :sorry
You’re right though, as my late FIL used to say, time waits for nobody.
So grasp those minutes and hours and enjoy :thumb
Narrowboat sounds great fun.
As @Up10 said to have summer in the UK, then head off for 90 days or longer wherever you like over winter sounds like an adventure.
