Hi there, just thought I’d say hello as new to the Cali Club. Firstly thank you all for the information everyone has contributed to, I’ve found it really useful! We’ve recently bought our first California SE (used) we’re not new to campervanning but is our first ever Cali. Only had it for a couple weeks and just about ready to be off on our trolls! It’s needed a bit of tlc but we’ve just about got there.
I don’t know if this is of any use to anyone, hopefully so and good to give back to the forum but we’ve had to do a few little repairs to some scuffs here and there. We had some marks and dents on the interior cabinets so filled them with a bit of wood filler and then using a mix of umbrol enamel model paints, blended them in to make them look a bit better and not stand out. I’ve attached a pic of the paints and colour numbers and they seemed to work pretty good.
On the back of the headrests the silver was quite worn and had some marks on it so I got a roll of Matt grey sticky back fablon from Wilko’s And it worked a treat. See before and after photo below.
Today me and my other half spent the day repairing the fabric seat as it was threadbare on the drivers base. We replaced the fabric by putting a piece in and not done anything like this before so didn’t know how it would turn out but thankfully it’s worked out super! I’ll put the part code below for you as well in case it is of any help.
Anyway great to say hello and happy camping!
