Hello from Australia!

Just joined this wonderful group. In March, we became the owners of a lovely Ascot Grey California Beach TDI450 4Motion. I believe this is known as the Tourer model in the UK. Because of the 2-sided doors, Australian design rules did not allow the Beach and Ocean Campervan configuration to be sold in Australia. That's not going to stop us from enjoying the great outdoors though, as we intend to fit a removable, modular camping kit into our new van. Looking forward to hearing other Cali owners' stories as well as sharing some of our own.

Enjoying our grey cali beach in Oz, escaping the city one in three weekends (clocked up 9000km in just twelve weeks so far)! Australia + California = perfect combo if anyone is thinking of doing it! Picture is from last weekend camping in a friend’s backyard at Tuan beach with lots of native whistling ducks looking on!

Howdy, I am from South Africa and purchased a Coast this year - I commute between UAE and SA and buying all the bells/whistels from Campervanbits. Shayne has been amazing with advice and thankful for his patience!

Calicab I second your post, this group is amazing and love reading posts which has helped me tremendously. I am leaving for SA end of week to arrive to all my parcels from Campervanbits and loading cart moreso - super excited as will be doing my maiden voyage finally!!

At a place called smiths creek in Australia which overlooks mount warning. Had to hide under a picnic shelter due to a hail storm! The Cali is perfect size - not too large - for this! And what a view!

At Wooyung Beach (Australia) in the California Beach… about 25km of deserted spectacular rolling surf where the fishing is terrific! And over the oceanic horizon a tropical cyclone (Alfred) approaches! Loving our Cali!

Beautiful pic and stretch of land. We drove up the coast from Sydney (just a regular rental) stopping at Byron Bay, last spring on the way to relatives nr Brisbane then on to the interior. A much busier beach at the time. Good luck through the storm and hope you’re loving the ‘Van
