Good evening, just got the ok to join so hello from the Black Forest in Germany.
I've actually been checking in and doing some research / reading before buying a ex demonstrator 6.1 Beach Edition Camper from a family business up near Ingolstadt. All the sleeping stuff still in OEM plastic wrapping and 5 year warranty. We traded a much loved and well travelled Caddy Maxi plus what felt like a wheelie bin full of cash for our new van.

Picked up the Cali with 9200kms then the following week five of us went off to the 4Islands Epic Series mountain bike race in Croatia where we worked to deliver the event for 600 competitors. It purred / wafted along fully loaded including 2 ebikes on the towbar rack and was super comfy.

Spec is:
Candy white, Springfield alloys (and did a deal on a second pair of these with new winter tyres for €1k)
204 DSG 4motion
Digital dash and Discover Pro, ACC, electric side door, park assist, hill hold
Alcantara seats, detachable towbar, LED lighting, carpets and rubber mats as well.
Probably more that I haven't found yet...

Tomorrows job is remove the three seat bench and try and set up the interior for mtb hauling and prevent damage and scratches inside. Looking forward to using the bus for trips to Switzerland and Italy and the 4motion will come in handy as we get a fair bit of snow in the winter.

Thats it! I'll get some pictures up as and when.... but its white, black wheels and Im sure you all know what they look like...

Morning and thanks for all the thumbs-ups!

I see in my profile the bus is an "Ocean"... it's not actually, its the Beach without the furniture inside but however, the engine / drivetrain is correct.

Probably the things I would like to do soon have been done already so I'll be using the search for mats, internal bike carrying solutions like sliders or similar and fitting a single seat in the back instead of the bench. I found the video to easily remove this, I just need a TV cabinet on wheels.

One mystery is the German manual. I'd like an English option but the VIN seems to be a character short at the beginning. Mine starts with VW not WVW and whatever I try, its not recognised....

But again, thanks for the welcomes...

Thanks Larry.
It is a keeper. We worked for a long time to find all the things we wanted on the same vehicle and travelled 500kms for this one. In reality, if I hung out for everything then I would have DCC and maybe Fontana Red but the white is actually growing on me. It's a good canvas for some graphics perhaps and a suspension change will help control the body roll. Our roads are not pothole ridden so firmer won't mean crashier. The Caddy Maxi we had before this was with us for 9 years and 230k kms covering Estonia, Poland to Croatia. It was a great car so happy to stick with VW. Basically we went all in on this one knowing it will be with us for a good while.

Our other vehicle is an Up Gti... and a ZZR1100 bike.
