Hello, all! We got our lovely GC600 about 10 months ago and are about to go round Europe for a month. Yes, in December… She’s got proper winter wellies on (Michelin Agilis CrossClimate) and we’re nearly ready. I’d love to know if anyone has upgraded their electrics to two lithium batteries and an inverter…? The lead acid battery supplied is a bit lacklustre and I’m scared of running it flat with the fridge and diesel heater overnight… If you have any top tips for sites to stay in Italy, we’d love to hear about them. Anyway, looking forward to being part of this group. I’ll let you know how the tyres go in the snow…

Hello from Aberdeenshire, sounds a fantastic trip.

Can’t recommend campsites in Italy but done a good deal of touring with the car in Northern Italy. Italian Lakes (Garda, Como, Maggoire). But usually in the autumn just before the passes close for the winter.

Our route has tended to be across the Brenner pass from Austria to Italy when the weather has been wintry on the higher passes.

If you plan to drive near Lake Garda- I think I would recommend the east shore rather than the west ( can’t remember any height restrictions but it’s done years since I drove it)

the West route is where Quantum of Solace was filmed but the galleries that look so dramatic in the film mean you see less of the scenery.

Touring - we did a 12 week tour of France earlier this year. I recommend using www.campingcarpark.com. More than 500 places mostly open all year.
