Hello, new owners here...

Would love to know what negatives you experienced with the motorhome while touring france that the cali wouldn't have please

Hi OCCALI,
Well I suppose there were both pros and cons in touring France in the motorhome; the size was in fact L7.62 W2.41 H2.78 so a fair size.

Pros
Plenty of space and storage, full size double island bed, microwave, grill, oven, 4 burner hob, large sink, ability to stop after long drive and jump back into the seating area without having to swivel seat (in fact we didn't swivel them much anyway), separate 4/6 seating area to bed area, shower and toilet. Able to store cycles in bike bags inside, Fuel consumption worked out to 30mpg overall, with max of 33mpg. Toll fees not as much as anticipated, although only selective use

Cons
Size, some campsites we looked at had max length of 7 meters, popping to shops (Aldi) without MH parking vehicle took up almost two car spaces in length, and overlap sideways, restricted in day trips as you had to plan / research parking options, street parking restricted options, height restrictions, interesting parking at Huttopia Versailles;).

All in all we really enjoyed the experience of the motorhome, clearly we didn't buy one; can't be used as a daily vehicle, would be a third vehicle, parking at home.

We talked through the purchase of a Cali; could we do what we did in the MH touring France for two weeks, cycling, watching stages of the Tour de France? - yes we could. It would require a little more planning on what we pack and a drive away awning would be required. The bonus is the total flexibility for day trips, and many more options at home for weekends and other holidays.
