Thanks for letting me join,
We've just bought our first California Ocean a T6.1 by the sea West Sussex. Can't wait to get out and about with our young daughter and two dogs... older kids not interested in camping with folks anymore, but may drag them out occasionally with a tent
So I am all about seat protectors in the first instance! But looking to gain some invaluable advice from the pros on here

:welcome
You will find loads of info on seat covers by searching previous threads. And J do mean loads.
Best advice I can offer is to get out in your van overnight, try everything out at least once, before you fall in to the inevitable trap of buying lots of trinkets for it. There of of folk on here (myself included) with lots of underused stuff bought in haste :thumb
Enjoy.

I can’t advise on which seat covers are best but just to say that our originals on a 2021 6.1 OCEAN were a nightmare to keep clean. Despite there only being two reasonably medium functioning adults! Throw a dog and a kid into the mix, no chance.

In the end we swapped ours over for a two tone leather combo to match the outside paintwork.

Now it’s easy to keep them looking good. .

I totally agree! I've been used to leather seats for a while, so fabric is a nightmare! I've already got some ukatex ones on order and have ordered some cheap waterproof universal ones to tide us over as I can tell they will get trashed - especially in winter!

Thanks for the advice :)

That's great advice, thanks. We hired a couple out last summer to get an idea of what we liked, but having our own now seems a bit more daunting! I can easily get carried away, so thanks for your advice, my wallet will thank you!

I've just discovered that we are missing a valve for the gas cylinder, so that's my first job to sort!

Hi, like you I've just joined and bought an Ocean and in a similar predicament with seat covers (2adults and 2 very young children). I''ve never liked material looking seats and keen to put covers on... my attention is towards Seatskinz at the moment (appear to have good reviews) but watching this thread carefully. Enjoy :)

Welcome to the club!!
Having had leather seats for years I was dreading the material, but I find them incredibly comfortable.
That said, I reckon they will ruin quickly too.
We tried a couple of different seat covers out ranging from £30 to £200.
We looked at the ones you can have tailored (skinz) and although nice to have, there was just something not right for me... I even tried (in a showroom) the Jackyards £800 set!! I liked them, a lot, but they weren't a soft as I'd hoped - although I was told they do soften = but at £800 I just couldn't.

Borrowed a friends Dryrobe one for a few days and literally made my mind up by day two. Amazingly soft, warm and comfortable. Waterproof too and the dogs hair doesn't stick to it.

I guess it comes down to what you like, how much you want them personalized to your taste, and how much you want to spend. Good luck with the search.

Having been looking at various seat covers for an age I was excited to read about Dryrobe. So, a quick web search found the site.
Alas, they only do front seats and they appear not to be compatible with seat-side airbags.
The hunt continues…
Thanks for the tip though, as always. :thumb

Thanks for sharing your advice :). I feel like seat covers are bit like buggys when you have a toddler, there doesn't seem to be one product that does everything you need it to ! So I guess it's about working out what is most important and proritising - then hoping your partners priorities are the same lol!

It would be great if dry robe did the backset bench as well!
Thanks for the warm welcome

Ooh thank you, I will check out seatskinz :)

We looked at an ex rental van that was less than a year old, but the seats were absolutely trashed! I honestly feel that one journey with my messy crew would destroy them!

Enjoy your Ocean too!

You could try the VW waterproof ones. Available in club shop, Campervantastic etc.

Or you can go to Inka and get similar for half the price. Their delivery has been a bit questionable in the past though.

I’ve had the VW waterproof ones on my Beach for 4 years. They do a good job of protecting the originals and have worn well. Very easy to clean too.

One buggy to rule them all… out&about… road, beach, woods etc any weather… over 9 years used by two kids… just saying

Hey, they sound lovely! Leather would be my preference, but I think I'll have to work up towards that!

I have emailed them with a suggestion to do rear seats - I doubt it'll come to much though. Whist there's just the two of us its all we need for now but I shall be looking out for something for the back - not too worried if it doesn't match exactly personally.
They have Velcro down the sides - I've put it on loose. I figure the force of an airbag exploding will rip that open with ease - not that I hope I'll ever need air bags!!

I used to love Buggy shopping!!!
As mentioned in my other post, I have emailed them about a backseat idea but doubt I'll hear back.
It would be nice, although the folding headrests will be an issue. On the hunt now for something that will fit the decor in the back and not fussing it matches the fronts. After all, you don't deck out and paint your kitchen and lounge the same colours right?
