Currently planning a 5/6 week trip to these countries in Jan/Feb. Just read that entering Europe you can only take in 2kg of food in its sealed package. That will barely last our Olive just over a week. I know, in fear of confiscation, we could try taking in a far bigger bag to last the trip. However. I’d be interested in finding how ours have managed with buying kibble in Europe. Olive has Tribal kibble which, a search of their website, suggests there are no European stockists of that brand. Any quality European dog brand recommendations would be appreciated. Alternatively we could put her on a holiday diet

Has anyone ever been searched and had stuff confiscated?

No, only ever had a half-arsed gas check.

We always take a BIG bag of dog food.

You can buy dog food in most supermarkets in Spain & Portugal usually the big brand ones like purina, ultima, royal cannine, also plenty of specialist pet shops.

Our dogs love to sample Iberian cuisine on their holidays, particularly fond of tapas and pintxo matured for three weeks in a roadside ditch.

Ours loves the most cheapest food from the supermarkets in spain and france mixed with her high brand dutch food. We always bring back a lot of the cheap stuff, just for the taste of it. Somehow it just taste better.

We regularly go to Europe with ALOT of dog food. I mean like 60-90kg We live in Europe but can’t get the food for one of our dogs that we want out there, so just bulk buy and take in with. We have been checked at Eurotunnel before but they’re not interested in that sort of stuff from what I can gather. I wouldn’t think twice about putting a big sack in.

Thank you. I’m sure our Olive would love all Iberian meats :)
