hi from newcastle staffs

How is Newcastle these days? I’ve not been back for years but have some great memories.

I grew up in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Still go back to visit family - and collect a couple of dozen oatcakes. Anyone from North Staffordshire will know what I'm talking about :)

Hubby born in Clayton, grew up in Red Street now on Sandbach.
Welcome
Look forward to waving at you

Stop it! All I can think of now is hot oatcakes with melted cheddar cheese, bacon, some tinned tomatoes and brown sauce.

Search on Sainsbury’s website”north Staffordshire oatcakes” !

I’m afraid I’m an oatcake snob - the sainsburys ones are factory-made and semi-stale when you open the pack. Got to be freshly made from a proper oatcake shop for me. When I were a lad back up north…the local oatcake shop was basically the front room of a terraced house and they served out of the open window.
