Anyway it’s got trapped exposed to the weather and has crumbled like burnt paper. Is there a way of mending this? I can’t really afford a new canvas? Here are some photo’s HELP!

The way I see it you’d have to remove the canvas totally for someone to sew a repair into the rear of your canvas so you’d be as well replacing the entire canvas instead as you’d of come so far. Chances are to get a decent and permanent repair made will cost nearly the same as an out and out replacement. Around £350 for a canvas and it you’re slightly confident with DIY you could fit it yourself. @sidepod did a good ‘How To’ thread on it some time ago. Worth a read before diving in to the job.

No, easier to just buy a new one. I fitted a new one as mine had a much smaller hole in the same place when I bought it.
If you plan to keep it for a few years its worth fitting a new one, looks and performs better than a repair job.
