Hook up

If I garage my cal for say 3 -4 months,( international space station holiday) could I keep it on hook up.does that function like a battery trickle charge. Ta
 
Yes you could do. I would say if everything is off the battery should be OK after 3 months

Just to be on the safe side I would plug the hook up in, you don't want to return and find one or all the batteries flat and kn@ckered.
If you don't fancy leaving it connected the full length of your holiday you could use a plug in timer, 4 hours a day or get someone to plug it in for a week mid way through.
 
The charger will bring the batteries up to full charge and then drop down to a trickle charge automatically to maintain them.

If the batteries are new and fully charged, then they should last 3 months without being charged, but will need to be fully charged on your return before you use them.

If they are older they will need to be kept topped up during this period to maintain the charge. Once a lead acid battery goes completely flat it's life is shortened. This should always be avoided if at all possible.
