Ignorance is bliss

@chockswahay thanks for the tips on DFP Monitor for VAG app. I’ve got it running now via the Carista dongle. This is going to make it a lot easier to make sure we allow a regen cycle to complete. During the winter many of our journeys are short, and it’s easy to stop regen by accident.

For others considering this app : The app has a one off cost of £6.59 (which is fine - the developer needs a return); you join the Carista dongle on Bluetooth via the app; you need to choose the relevant engine code in the app - in my case it was DNAA (this for a 150ps 2 litre engine, MY 2022). The engine code was on a label on the drivers door pillar (see below); after about 10 miles of driving, the app data was being populated, and after a couple of refresh actions, the app data became active (current); the app became selectable on ApplePlay so I now have it on the infotainment system.

@Hawthorn37 That's great that you can get the DPF stats on the media screen and I imagine it's really helpful if you understand what it all means! For me, the last time regen is really useful but do we have any idea what parameters we are looking for the other stats i.e soot mass and DPF status?

Ps. My Thread was meant to say Ignorance ISN'T bliss!

Spend the money and join the club ‘proper’, then you can edit your posts AND have access to all of the other more tangible benefits :thumb In view of the support this club offers the fee is very modest :)

I think over time you’ll get an understanding of what “normal” looks like, and you’ll spot anything going astray., such as the EGR Valve Pressure - I like it says 100% right now! Also on mine it says the soot build up is “Normal - 62% “ but that was 55% before I started driving, so I’m taking that to be the trigger for a regen, I.e. when gets towards 100%?

Like yourself, my main attention is when the next regen is likely to be.
