Introduction

Hi,
I'm Peter from Reading,Berkshire. Have owned the California since March '09, so now 8 months out of guarantee. Have generally been delighted with the vehicle, which is a 2.5Litre 5 cylinder, 130 psi, silver grey van. It's covered 35000 miles in the UK and Europe and has had 3 services, each at about 11500 mile intervals.
It is good to see that I'm not the only one to experience some problems, like removing the wheels for the first time. I believe applying copper slip ( a thick copper coloured lubricant bought from Halfords ) to the hub and flange is the answer.

I talked to SMG about this (having had to it on an earlier vehicle) and 'VW do not recommend it'. I'm not sure why but certainly whilst I have VW assist, I won't be doing it!
