I’ve seen the thread discussing this for PHEV and it’s says it’s not available on diesel or petrol version.
We were in a dealership yesterday and they demonstrated the air conditioning while parked with engine off. We weren’t aware this was a feature and to us it’s a very attractive one.
Can any T7 owner please confirm that this does work and runs off the battery? How long can it run for before it drains the battery?
Can it run indefinitely when hooked up to electric?
Is it on 30 minute timer?
Thanks

Can’t give you a definitive answer. However any A/C that is effective in a van will have to have a considerable power (probably >600w)- which will flatten your average leisure battery within an hour if not less. So I can’t imagine it would be a workable solution in a van with the engine off. The only way it could work would be with EHU however I suspect that is unlikely to be the case.

I can’t edit post- I’d ignored the PHEV bit- so the above still stands, but presumably the PHEV has a much bigger battery capacity.

Not possible, if you turn the ignition on without starting the engine, you can run the fans but its not air conditioned it just outside air blowing in for as long as you have the ignition on. Only with the engine running do have have air conditioning. The dealers like to show the rear screen as having air conditioning on but it’s not true it’s just unconditioned air. It’s very power hungry as you are turning all the drive systems on to do it this way. The ventilation timer that they may have showed you on the Volkswagen app also turns on the fans and the timer is set at 10 minutes and works without turning the ignition on.
