Italy, tips on locations

A thread with Italy tips.
1 Levanto above Cinque Terre. The perfect size village, bakery, pizzerias, a lovely beach, mostly Italians on holiday. Stat at camping Acqua Dolce.
2. Lake Como, most beautiful place in Italy. A bit posh, but so beautiful. You are not supposed to swim in the lake, at least in the southern part. Camping Magic Lake is great.
3. Lake Garda, also a beatiful lake, wonderful waters to swim or surf in.

Some of out favorites/places we went:

Nice town, westside of Elba:

Only 1 camping on Giglio, nice trails.

Like Venedig, less crowded:

We are planning to go to Italy in Autumn

I find the Italian Lakes far over-rated.
The Cinque Terre early/late season otherwise Gran Paradiso area, Dolomites and Seiser Alm.

We went all the way south to a small place called Oria, absolute bliss! Brindisi, the main port in the south, is also worth a visit. But I must admit I have a penchant for dirty, old harbor towns.
