Just had a great week in Morzine with a return trip from Dorset via Eurotunnel.

700 miles each way and the Cali was great - forgotten how nice the French Autoroutes are with cruise set at 80 the kms fly by.

Drove down overnight with three drivers taking turns.

Friday half term night at Folkestone terminal was mayhem, and Flexiplus worth every penny as we skipped the queue completely, filled up on snacks and boarded within 30 Mins of arrival.

Returning last night arrived at Calais at 2325 and managed to board the 2340! Nice lady at UK border force asked us which train we were on and as we had an outside chance of getting the next one she whizzed through the passports.

All in all a great trip (except for out 6 year old breaking his arm and having overnight surgery in Geneva hospital).

Cali was great although fuel on the autoroute was even dearer than M25 Cobham services!!

I might be shooting down to Morzine next week. Never been to Morzine. Did you camp and can you recommend any sites…?

Sorry to hear about your 6 year old. I hope he/she won’t be out off. Ours broke his last summer at football camp. To be honest, he healed within a few weeks with no lasting effects.

It’s great and we’ve been quite a few times. We stayed in an air bnb and haven’t camped there before so can’t help with that.
Some good restaurants and bars to enjoy though!

Were there any checks on the food you were carrying? Anything confiscated?

None at all, straight through.

How PCR test and vaccine status stuff?

Easy. If fully jabbed nothing required either way. Fill out French declaration, have NHS Covid app and PLF on way home.

Upload to Eurotunnel before travelling so no other checks required other than passports.

In resort all restaurants scanned NHS pass, masks in shops, but a lot more relaxed than Switzerland.

Just booked.
Off on Thursday, so excited.
No fixed abode at present, but we will survive...

Week before 1/2 term we drove down to La Cluzac for a ski-weekender trip, had forgotten how lovely the autoroute in F is.
Fab trip, 2 drivers, we needed antigen test to enter France - all uploaded with Eurotunnel, so smooth.
