Kitchen tap again

Just closed the lid on the sink with some bowls under it and snapped the tap spout off,, looks like it has a thread inside but this is a red herring, If you get a long g clamp it just pops back on over the o ring. Takes a bit of pressure but does go on. Thoght i was on my way to a new tap but phew another few quid saved,
