Hi there, we are thinking of visiting the Lake district with our 3 children and bringing the grandparents along. We want to camp in our california but would like the grandparent to stay in a wooden lodge. Can you help us suggest a campsite in the Lake district where we can both camp with our campervan and are also wooden lodges available? Thank you

National Trust great Langdale has pods and yerts on site.

We would recommend Skelwith Fold camping near Ambleside.
The camper van area is next to some new 'tent type' lodges and you can walk to Ambleside & the Langdales...

CCC site at Derwentwater. Although it can be busy so you might struggle to book now. Not sure if the "lodges" are canvas or timber

Dear RSMarco, Nick, Azteccamper, PJ500 and pjm-84!
Thank you so much for your replies. I am just looking through them and will book one of the options. I really appreciate the good community here.

+1 for Castlerigg Hall

The Estate, Patterdale, for next time...

Meathop Fell C&MC site with lodges next door at a private site. They also have apartments to rent on the C&MC site. It’s near Grange over Sands so south lakes but a great spot for discovering that part of the Lakes.
