Latest emissions data and tax bands

So if I read it correctly in the Nov18 brochure the emissions 1st year taxation is as follows.

Tax Bands

150 no change
199 2wd just into the next band up
199 4 motion, same as before and now no cost difference to 2wd vs 4wd

So it looks at the moment like the 199 2wd took the hit although the 4wd isnt much below the upper band limit.

Thought I would update on my own statement above. Seems it was a correct assumption, I just received this formal letter from VW. In a nutshell fuel economy went down 10% and CO2 up 10% 204ps - 199ps. In reality it probably improved. The 4 motion adds 20 CO2,s

Dear ,

Since September 2017, a new European Union vehicle testing regime called the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure ("WLTP") is being phased in and replaces the New European Driving Cycle ("NEDC") test procedure for establishing the official fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions figures for new vehicles. The WLTP applies to all vehicle manufacturers.

We would like to update you regarding the impact WLTP could have on your vehicle order.

NEDC equivalent figures for your vehicle model

The fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions figures from the WLTP were not available for your vehicle at the point of order because the model had not yet been tested under WLTP. Therefore, at that time, we could only provide the latest available official figures as determined in accordance with the NEDC test.

The WLTP has now been carried out on your vehicle model. In accordance with legislation, the figures resulting from the WLTP have been converted into "NEDC equivalent" figures to allow consumers to easily compare figures with models tested under the previous NEDC testing regime. The NEDC equivalent figures for your vehicle model are now available. These replace the previous official fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions figures determined in accordance with the NEDC test which were provided to you when you ordered your vehicle. A comparison is shown below:

Despite the increase in the official CO₂ figure, the rate of the annual Vehicle Excise Duty which applies to your vehicle has not changed.

Next Steps

If you accept delivery of your vehicle, you are now agreeing to receive a vehicle with the above NEDC equivalent fuel consumption figures and CO2 emissions figures, which have changed from those provided to you at the point of order, however this has not impacted the applicable rate of Vehicle Excise Duty and/or Benefit in Kind, as identified above. If you wish to proceed with the delivery of your vehicle, then no further action is required.
Alternatively, you have the option to cancel (at no cost) or amend your order, should you wish to do so. You can do so by calling us within 30 days of receiving this communication. If we have not heard from you within 30 days, we will assume you wish to continue with your order as planned
