Evening MTB brethren, have any of you got solutions or ideas to best protect the sides when bike is loaded ? I have lightly scraped the rear plastics being an ignorant bollox that I am, I suppose cardboard up each side would do the job but was after something more appealing , bike fits nicely with seats slid all the way forward ( bumpstop moved too), ps that’s the plastic still on the floor, cheers all

Just checking as I am planning to get a Cali that has a VW bike rack on the back. I thought all Cali has them as standard? If you got one... Is there any particular reason reason why you don't have a mtb on it as that is one of my reasons of getting a Cali.

@tweedie Not standard, plus I have a rear spoiler fitted , plus I don’t like them

Cover the bike in a blanket?

Personally I wouldn't bother though, just get a towbar bike rack if you don't like the one on the tail gate. Much more convenient.

Some people feel it's more safe to have their bike inside the van. Depends on the situation though. If you're just driving to and from the MTB-spot, no need to put it inside the van. The bike rack is great if you ask me.
